Gendai Budo is currently the sponsor for the Loyola Karate Club. All Loyola Students, Alums, Faculty and Staff are invited to attend the club. Club classes are Tuesday and Thursday 7 pm on the campus of Loyola University and 1 pm on Saturdays at the karate studio.
The club is designed to increase awareness of Asian Martial Culture and Martial Arts. Students also learn basic Karate and self-defense techniques while working out in a friendly environment. The Karate Club is one of the oldest continually functioning clubs at Loyola University with over 30 years of continuous labor.
Every year the Loyola Karate Club, with Gendai Budo, organizes cultural events including the Traditional Japanese Tea ceremony, Yoga and Tai Chi Seminars.
